1893

Our beginnings

It all started with pudding powder, baking mixtures and ingredients. The Wellen family, following in the footsteps of the company’s founder Remigius Wellen, sold these products under the brand name “tewells”. The brand became well-known and existed for more than 100 years.

1949

Food industry knowledge

1994

Entry to the pet space

Gerd Wellen, the third-generation owner, bought an extruder from a long-standing business partner, hired five employees, gave the new company the Name “RONDO FOOD” and began producing snacks for dogs and cats.

2023

Founding of RONDO FOOD AMERICA

With the support and expertise of RONDO FOOD GmbH & Co. KG, RONDO FOOD AMERICA was formed to work closely with North American customers allowing us to apply our principles of Quality, Innovation and Value directly to customers.

Krefeld

RONDO FOOD Krefeld has been in operations since 2005. This is our primary production location for extruded and co-extruded treats and is the home of our Administration and Sales teams.

Austria

PRO PET Austria was founded in 1997. Specialized in the production of ultra high quality meat based dog and cat treats. Rupp Austria entered into the pet food market in 1975. Specialized in the production of highly palatable dog and cat treats.

Halle

RONDO FOOD Halle has been in operation since 1996 and our current production facility went into service in 2003. Key treats from this location include meat strips, meat sticks and dental treats.

Chicago

RONDO FOOD America was established in 2022 to serve the unique customer needs of North American retailers and distributors.
